Welcome to Saint Mary Cathedral! Standing in the midst of downtown Austin, the Cathedral serves the Roman Catholic Diocese of Austin, which includes 127 parishes, in 25 counties in Central Texas. The diocese stretches from West, Texas, (just north of Waco) in the north to San Marcos in the south to the Bryan/College Station area in the east to Mason in the west. Its largest metropolitan areas are Austin, Bryan/College Station, the Killeen/Temple/Belton area and Waco. Nearly Approximately 450,000 Catholics live in the Diocese of Austin. Saint Mary Cathedral is the home parish of our present bishop, Bishop Joe Vásquez, STL, D.D..

Ave Maria Gift Shop is a volunteer ministry, staffed by volunteers who give generously of their time. Consequently, we are open a limited number of hours per week. If you'd like to help us expand our gift shop hours, we invite you to volunteer two or three hours of your week with us to help evangelize individuals wanting to deepen or learn more about our Catholic faith.
