Rick Gabrillo is the Music Teacher of the Cathedral School of Saint Mary's and the director of the newly forming Cathedral Boys Choir. He is also currently the Associate Conductor of the Grammy-nominated ensemble, Conspirare, which is a professional adult choral ensemble based in Austin, Texas. In addition, he also serves as the Administrator and Assistant Conductor for the Conspirare Children’s Choir.
After attending the New England Conservatory of Music and Boston University, Rick completed his undergraduate and masters degrees in choral music education and choral conducting at the University of Texas at Austin in 1999. He was the choral director at Clint Small Middle School in Austin ISD from 1999 to 2005.
Rick has also remained very active in church music as he has worked as the director of the adult choirs at both First English Lutheran Church and Central Presbyterian Church. He was also the Children’s Choir Director at both Central Presbyterian Church and, most recently, at First Presbyterian Church.
Rick currently resides in Round Rock, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Evelyn, and their 2-year-old son, Ryan.
