In what ministries have you been involved with in the past?
Christian Faith Formation catechist for eight years, the Just Faith program and the Evangelization Committee.
What is your favorite thing about volunteering at the Cathedral? What do you get out of it?
I absolutely love the community involvement. I very much enjoyed interacting with the children. I also believe the value of human rights and the ability to learn and to help with this [social justice] cause. Also, volunteering to help the poor is very important to me. I get happiness and self-worth out of it.
What has been one of your most rewarding experiences as a Cathedral volunteer?
My most favorite experience was to become knowledgeable of social justice. Once you get over the shock, then you begin to understand the importance of the need to help our community.
Why does volunteering matter?
Being a disciple of the Lord is very meaningful and rewarding to my spirit.
What are your other interests?
I very much like to be involved in helping prevent abortion and helping unwed mothers.
What advice would you give to a parishioner new to volunteering?
If you take the first step in volunteering:
• the Cathedral staff and volunteers will make you feel very welcomed and
• your spirit will be nurtured when helping others.
