8th Annual Worldwide Children's Eucharistic Holy Hour
On First Friday, October 1st Saint Mary Cathedral hosted the 8th Annual Worldwide Children's Eucharistic Holy Hour which boasted of close to 500 children from the Cathedral School of Saint Mary, the religious education classes and homeschoolers from throughout the diocese. Each group hosted their own special holy hour led by a priest or deacon. We hope you enjoy this 9 minute video clip produced by our very own 17 year old parishioner Stephanie Arino. http://gloria.tv/?media=103189

May this video clip inspire you to come to Saint Mary Cathedral every First Friday from 8AM - 9AM when the Cathedral School of Saint Mary students joyfully worship Jesus through prayers, songs, periods of silence, and scripture meditation. Nothing compares to hearing the children's angelic voices.
For the second year in a row, this the first Catholic school in the entire diocese to have a regular monthly program of Eucharistic Adoration every First Friday in accordance with what the Pope Benedict XVI said, "I also recommend that, in their catechetical training…children be taught the meaning and beauty of spending time with Jesus, and helped to cultivate a sense of AWE before His presence in the Eucharist." (Sacrament of Charity)
If this time doesn't fit your schedule you can also come every First Thursday from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM when all the homeschoolers from throughout the diocese get together to adore Jesus. I guarantee you that you will be in for a big surprised whichever one you attend.
We also invite to our regular First Friday Adoration from 12:30 PM - 3:30PM. Finally please see the article by Bishop Joe Vasquez in the Catholic Spirit on the importance of adoration. You may also go online to read the full article here
