In what ministries have you been involved with in the past?
Christian Faith Formation
What is your favorite thing about volunteering at the Cathedral?
I have always felt very humbled and honored to serve at my parish, Saint Mary Cathedral.
What do you get out of it?
The opportunity to recognize God through the image of one of his children and be able to say, “I’m your servant, Lord.”
What has been one of your most rewarding experiences as a Cathedral volunteer?
When, during Mass, I see people whom I previously invited to the Cathedral.
Why does volunteering matter?
It matters because I know that I shouldn’t keep my gifts to myself, that I should share them and make them grow.
What are your other interests?
My other interests are my job, I love it! It’s also is about helping people (in this case some of the must vulnerable, the under-served children). I also enjoy the movies and walking, but must of all, spending time with my family (especially my granddaughter who is 3 years old, and my nieces and nephews).
What advice would you give to a parishioner new to volunteering?
To remember that by serving others we are really serving God. It is about our brothers and sisters, not about us.
